They're recordings from the 1960's that Nonesuch licensed back when they were a budget label. Back in high school or early college if I wanted a recording of a piece of music and didn't have much money, I'd go for Nonesuch recordings. It was kind of like what Naxos is now (although Naxos' overall quality is much better). Anyway, I had the Nonesuch vinyl of these recordings and nearly wore the groves smooth when I was a geeky kid. As a geeky adult, there's a nostalgic thing about listening to them again, but they're not that bad either. The performances are on modern instruments but they're fairly lively and well played and they have recorders and stuff. The harpsichordist kind of overuses the octave stop at times so it can sound a little heavy from that angle. It's not Christopher Hogwood or John Elliot Gardiner, but it's OK.
